Welcome to my review of the Perfect Image Glycolic Peel 30% Gel
The Perfect Image Glycolic Acid 30% Gel Peel is a professional strength peel.
This is a Level 1 peel, also known as a lunchtime peel or a light peel and acts on the outermost epidermal skin layers. They are fast and easy to use, do not cause any visible peeling and have a much lower risk level than Level 2 or 3 peels.
The FDA recommends that any peels containing this amount of glycolic acid should only be administered by a trained professional – so you have been warned!
This level 1 glycolic acid peel exfoliates your skin, removing the top layer of dead skin cells, and revealing fresher, healthier skin underneath.
It is designed to unblock pores, remove blackheads, minimize fine lines, increase cell turnover and the production of collagen, and reduce pigmentation problems, such as sun spots or age spots – giving you a more even skin tone and a brighter, fresher complexion.
- Professional strength 30% glycolic acid.
- Gives you 15 to 20 full facial peels.
- Contains antioxidants – vitamin A, green tea, cucumber and chamomile.
- Reduces fine lines, evens out your skin tone, promotes collagen.
- Increases cellular turnover and removes dead skin cells.
- Improves hydration of your skin.
- Made in the USA at an FDA registered facility.
- Recyclable packaging.
- Not tested on animals.
- Free from parabens, sulfates and phthalates (contains propylene glycol).
A 30% chemical peel is much more aggressive than one containing 10% glycolic acid, which is why the FDA recommends that these are only used by professionals. Unlike the gentle exfoliants (with 10% glycolic acid or less), these high percentage peels, are meant to be left on the skin for only a few minutes and then rinsed away quickly.
If they are left on for too long or used too often, your skin can be seriously damaged, so read all of the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and consult a medical professional if necessary.
Who will benefit from using the Perfect Image Gel Peel 30%?
If you have noticed the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles on your face, then a chemical peel will help to revitalize your skin, giving you a smoother, fresher complexion.
Sun damaged skin will also benefit from using this alpha hydroxy acid peel as it removes the dead skin cells from the epidermal and dermal layers of your skin and helps to give you a more even tone.
In fact anyone who has tired or dull looking skin can benefit from a course of exfoliation to remove dead skin cells, stimulate cell turnover and increase the production of collagen.
How do you use this Perfect Image peel?
Always read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for these high percentage glycolic acid chemical peels, but in general the procedure is as follows:
- Cleanse your skin, then apply the chemical peel gel to your skin (avoiding lips and eyes) using a small cosmetic brush or applicator (this doesn’t come with the peel).
- Only leave the glycolic acid peel on your skin for a maximum of 5 minutes before rinsing away with cool water.
- For your first application, limit this time to no more than 30 seconds, just so your skin can build up a tolerance to the strength of the peel.
- If your skin feels too irritated, then rinse the peel away with cool water, even if it is less than 1 minute.
- Perfect Image advise that you can use this chemical peel 1-2 times a week for up to 4-6 weeks, as long as your skin is not irritated.
- Follow up with a neutralizer – that helps to re-balance the pH of your skin after a peel, calms your skin and promotes tissue repair and then your favorite moisturizer.
Don’t forget to use a sunscreen after using any products containing glycolic acid and perform a patch test first, to make sure that it is suitable for your skin.

Benefits of glycolic acid
Glycolic acid has the smallest molecules of the alpha hydroxy acids, which is why it is so popular in skincare products.
It can penetrate the top layers of your skin easily, exfoliating and removing dead skin cells, stimulating collagen production and leaving your skin feeling refreshed and clean.
So glycolic acid is a great addition to your beauty regime if you have dull, tired skin, blocked pores, acne or an uneven skin tone.
Also it helps to reduce fine lines and bring definition back to your skin, giving your complexion a more youthful, brighter appearance.
Benefits of green tea
Green tea is a very powerful antioxidant, which helps to reverse the signs of aging caused by free radical damage.
So green tea extract helps to minimize sun spots and age spots and even out your skin tone. It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties so it is a good ingredient if you suffer from acne.
Benefits of chamomile
Chamomile is another antioxidant that helps to reduce the damage caused by free radicals in our skin and with its antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties it is also perfect for acne sufferers.
FYI: If you are allergic to the Asteraceae plant family, then you may be allergic to chamomile as well.
Benefits of cucumber extract
Cucumber is chocked full of silica which is necessary for the production of both collagen and connective tissue. It also helps reduce puffy eyes or dark circles under your eyes, as well as skin irritations or sunburn. It is very calming and soothing on our skin, reducing inflammation and rejuvenating your skin.
Benefits of vitamin A
Also known as retinol, vitamin A helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating cellular repair and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. It also enhances the turnover of cells, which along with the glycolic acid unblocks pores and blackheads and reduces acne.

I was a little nervous at first, although I felt that at 30%, this was a good place to start. I have to give the company credit…there is a really informative pamphlet in the box that is very clear about how to use the product, all the precautions, contraindications, and after treatment.
This glycolic acid 30% peel is fantastic it does this job the same job that you would get in a salon for hundreds more.
I absolutely love this product! This peel gave me almost immediate results with no downtime.
This product has definitely helped to clear my skin of breakouts; furthermore, it has helped smooth my fine lines and it has helped to even out my skin tone. Does it offer surgical or professional resurfacing results? No. But it definitely offers minor to moderate cosmetic improvements, while being very cost effective.
The majority of customers love this glycolic acid chemical peel and have excellent results.
Some have not noticed any improvement in their skin and a few have had significant problems. This just emphasizes that you really need to know what you are doing with these high percentage chemical peels or you could damage your skin.
