What is the FOREO LUNA mini 2?
For the uninitiated, the FOREO LUNA mini 2 is a facial cleansing device that uses pulsating T-sonic technology that gently exfoliates your skin. Since it uses vibrations to remove all of the dirt and debris from your pores, it is not harsh or rough on your skin and is the ideal mini facial.
The original FOREO LUNA mini was launched a few years ago and quickly became a favorite amongst women who appreciated a really deep cleanse of their skin. Now FOREO have introduced the mini 2, an updated version of the original FOREO LUNA mini.

Let’s talk about the FOREO mini 2
First of all, the mini 2 comes in six fabulous colors – aquamarine, fuchsia, midnight, pearl pink (my favorite), sunflower yellow and save the sea.
Next, the FOREO LUNA mini 2 has three different zones on the silicone brush surface, each of which has a different purpose:
General cleaning zone: This zone on the silicone brush is ideal for normal and sensitive skins, because it has a smaller brush surface.
Deep cleansing zone: This zone is ideal for oily skin or combination skin, because it has a slightly larger brush surface than the general cleansing zone.
Precision cleansing zone: This zone is perfect for those hard to exfoliate areas on your face, for example the spots around your nose and around your mouth.
Anything else?
Instead of using a brush with bristles to exfoliate and cleanse you skin, the FOREO mini 2 uses T-sonic pulsations that vibrate the soft silicone bristles against your skin.
With more than 1000 soft, tiny silicone bristles, the mini 2 creates up to 8000 pulsations each minute. So you can imagine how easy it is to remove all of the debris from your skin and perform a mini facial at home.
Controls: You have a round ON/OFF button in the center of the front face of the mini 2.
Intensities: You have eight different intensities and you can turn them up or down using the + or – buttons (on either side of the ON/OFF button on the front of the device), giving yourself a really customized cleanse.. These intensity are easy to reach when you are using the mini 2, so changing intensities on different parts of your face is no problem.
Waterproof: The mini 2 is 100% waterproof, making it perfect to use in the shower or even your spa bath.
Recharging: You can use the USB charger to recharge your mini 2 in just 60 minutes, so it is perfect for when you are traveling as you can charge it from your computer. Don’t forget that you only have to recharge it once every 5 months and you can see how awesome this little cleansing device is!
LED lights: The mini 2 has a small LED light at the bottom, which turns on automatically when the power is ON and when you are recharging the device.
How do you use the LUNA mini 2?
The first st
ep is to remove your makeup and rinse your face. The massage your favorite cleaner into your skin and switch on the LUNA mini 2 using the center button.
You will notice that after every 15 seconds the device will beep and pause for a second or two, giving you time to move to a different area on your face.
An example of a one minute cleanse is to use the General 
Cleansing Zone for 15 seconds on each cheek, then 15 the Deep Cleansing zone on your oily areas and the last 15 seconds use the Precision Cleansing zone for the hard to reach areas around your nose.
You can use it for more than one minute, but it actually switches off after 3 minutes. Once you have completed your cleansing routine, simply rinse your face in warm water and apply your favorite serum and moisturizer.
You can actu
ally use the LUNA mini 2 with a serum as well,instead of a cleanser for an extra luxurious massage.
Don’t forget to rinse the mini 2 in warm water when you are finished and just let it air dry. This is a quick and easy at home microdermabrasion and cleansing routine that you can do every day to keep your skin in tip top shape.
The key is to massage your favorite cleanser into your face first and then use the mini 2 to add a more powerful and super effective cleansing to your skin.
FYI: Because the soft bristles are made from silicone, you can’t use cleansers or facial scrubs that have silicone, clay or sandy grains in them or they will damage the silicone of the bristles. So a soft, creamy facial cleanser or facial scrub is best.

FOREO LUNA mini vs mini 2
Controls: Both minis have a center ON/OFF button, but with the original mini you can only chose between two different speeds, whilst with the upgraded mini 2 you have 8 different intensities. The original mini is on the left and the new mini 2 is below on the right.
Size: Both of the minis are compact and easily fit in your hand, however the original mini 2 is slightly smaller than the new mini 2. Unless you can see both side by side and hold them in your hand, you won’t really notice this small difference in size.
Brush head: The size of the brush head on the mini 2 is 50% bigger than on the original mini (this accounts for the difference in overall size) and was enlarged to make it for efficient at cleansing your skin.
Soft touch bristles: On the mini 2, the soft touch bristles are longer and even softer than on the original mini, giving you an even softer and deeper cleanse. You also have lots more soft bristles in the General Cleansing area as well.

My thoughts on the FOREO LUNA mini 2
Without a doubt this is the best little microdermabrasion device ever! It is so easy to use, fits in your hand with no problem and really cleanses your skin deeply.
There are other cheaper facial cleansing systems on the market, but with the FOREO you don’t have to buy new brush heads ever again.
With soft touch silicone bristles, this is a wonderful facial cleansing system for all skin types, doesn’t irritate your skin and removes just about every bit of debris and dirt from your skin.
The original mini is cheaper than the new mini 2, and you are looking at around the $100 to $150 price bracket. So they are pricey, but sometimes it is worth paying more when you have such a fabulous device that does exactly what it says it will do!
